Traverse City, November 1, 2012 – Gail Eminhizer, CMM, CGCS, practice administrator for Digestive Health Associates, has been named Medical Manager of the Year by the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management (PAHCOM).
Candidates for the national award are nominated by peers, physicians and/or staff members for their contribution to the field of medical management and to PAHCOM.
Eminhizer is a Certified Medical Manager (CMM) and Gastroenterology Coding Specialist (CGCS). She served on the national advisory board of PAHCOM for four years, chairing the board in 2009 and 2010. Currently she chairs the association’s Chapter Support Committee and was instrumental in bringing a local PAHCOM chapter to Traverse City. In 2006, Eminhizer won the PAHCOM President’s Award for Professional Excellence.
Eminhizer has been with DHA since 1993. She is responsible for financial and personnel management, policy development and implementation, strategic planning, marketing and external relations, and communication. She has worked in the medical profession for 34 years and been a medical manager for more than 25 years. Eminhizer holds a bachelor of science degree in health management and a master’s degree in organizational management.
