Each of our physicians is a full-time active staff member at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, with consulting privileges at other local hospitals.
Dr. Antinozzi is a graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA and Jefferson University Medical School in Philadelphia, PA. He received further training at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Following a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Michigan Medical Center in 1987, he came to Traverse City. Dr. Antinozzi is a board certified gastroenterologist. He has also been awarded a fellowship through the American Gastroenterological Association.
Dr. Barnes has been practicing gastroenterology with Digestive Health Associates since 1992. Prior to that, his education included undergraduate training at the University of Notre Dame, followed by medical school at Wayne State University. Dr. Barnes completed his internship, residency, chief residency, and gastroenterology training at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He is a board certified gastroenterologist.
Dr. Galan earned his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University. After receiving his M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Dr. Galan completed his gastroenterology training at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in gastroenterology.
Dr. Goldman joined Digestive Health Associates in 2010. He earned his BA from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. Following an internship and residency at New York University Medical Center Bellevue Hospital, he completed a fellowship in gastroenterology through the University of Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. Dr. Goldman is a board-certified gastroenterologist and is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Hegewald graduated from the University of Notre Dame and attended medical school at the University of Washington in Seattle. He completed a gastroenterology/hepatology fellowship at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Hegewald has been in practice in Traverse City since 2000. He is board certified in gastroenterology.
Dr. Henbest received his Bachelor’s of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University, TN and his D.O. from Oklahoma State University. He did his internship and residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc as well as his fellowship in gastroenterology. Dr. Henbest has been in practice since 2011.
Dr. Sanford earned his B.S. from Western Michigan University, M.D. from Michigan State University and his residency at the Southwest Michigan Area Health Education Center in Kalamazoo. A gastroenterology fellowship at Michigan State University was followed by a hepatology fellowship at King’s College in London, England. Prior to coming to Traverse City, Dr. Sanford was an assistant professor of clinical medicine at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, NH. He is a board certified gastroenterologist.
Sarah Flickinger received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Hope College and her Master’s in Physician Assistant from University of Detroit Mercy. Flickinger has worked in primary care settings and in urgent care and emergency medicine.
Kathryn Holmstrom-Baker graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy Physician Assistant program and holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Madonna University. Kathryn is also a licensed paramedic, firefighter and medical first responder and spent 16 years as a fire fighter and paramedic for the city of Farmington Hills.
Allie Nave received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from Alma College and her Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University. Nave has patient care experience with McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey as a patient care technician in the medical surgery unit, cardiovascular unit and ICU.
Rachael Farrell P.A. received her Bachelors of Science degree from Ferris State University and her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University. Farrell has patient care experience with Lansing Cardiovascular Consultants in Okemos, MI as a physician assistant, as well as clinical experience in general surgery, family medicine and emergency medicine.
